We've been having a blast in 8th grade choir! We're currently working on a large repertoire of songs (about 8!) for our winter concert. We've been working on singing in four parts, and one of our favorite pieces, "Give us Hope" features our four-part singing. Enjoy this clip of "Give us Hope!"

We also completed our first project which included making cover songs! The students really enjoyed this project. Enjoy photos of our performances below and a video clip of one group's performance!

We learned our school theme song (composed by a current 7th grade student) in the 6th grade classes today, and the students loved it so much that we learned the entirety of the song in ONE DAY! Here's a video clip of one of our sixth grade classes singing it!

We also had a great time with our first composition project last week. The students composed ABA compositions that needed to have 3 parts that occurred concurrently. They used found sounds, which even included their own shoes! They had a blast, and here are a couple of pictures of our small group performances!

We're having a great time in chamber choir so far. The girls are almost ready to share portions of their cover songs with the class, and I can't wait to hear them! They've been working on taking a song with which they already have familiarity and making it "their own." Among the instruments used within the groups will be violin, piano, ukulele, guitar, and of course, their voices! These girls are so creative, and have come up with some amazing harmonies. Below are some pictures from our days spent working on our covers.

We've been having a great time in 7th grade choir. We've been working on a great deal of songs for our winter choral concert, but we also have been doing a couple of creative projects as well. One of these projects has been a cover song project. The students created a cover of a song with which they have familiarity, and really seemed to enjoy it! Here are some pictures from our performances!
