Today Chamber Choir began their journey to learn vernacular instruments such as the guitar, ukulele, and piano! For many of us, this was the first time we had ever tried one of these instruments before, and we were able to successfully play/sing a song together as a class by the end. It's still definitely a work in progress, but we're one step closer to our Coffee House at the end of the year. I'm so proud of these girls! In other news, their singing of more classical repertoire is also sounding beautiful! More of that to come later. Thanks for visiting our blog! ![]()

Today we learned the beginning of a new song that just might become a class favorite! Enjoy a snippet of "Everlasting Melody!" It's still a work in progress, but I think you'll see how happy it makes us! ![]()
Thanks to a successful project on Donors Choose, we have 5 new ukuleles, 2 new guitars, and all of their accessories to use in class! We are so excited to begin on our song-writing journey, working to our first Coffee House, which will take place in the spring! Today, the girls in Chamber Choir helped to unwrap our new instruments. Here are some pictures from today.
We've had a great first week getting to know each other and getting used to new routines! We also love to sing. We've been working on singing mostly in unison and two parts. However, these students went above and beyond with a round that we just learned recently, and sang it in FOUR parts! That's pretty awesome for the second day of school. Here it is! :) ![]()
Here's a picture from right after we sang our round!
