It's been a busy week. Along with pasta night, six of our students have been participating in DE Jr. All State Chorus. They rehearsed all day on Thursday and Friday, and they'll perform on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm! Come to CAB to see their concert. It's going to be fantastic! Here are a few pictures as well as a sneak peek of their concert!
The PTA invited us to perform at the school's pasta night on Tuesday. We had such a great time! This allowed our students to perform some of their cover songs and original songs that they've been working on in class. I was so proud of their hard work, and even more proud that the students made their own arrangements/wrote their own songs and had the opportunity to demonstrate their musical independence. In many cases, there were students singing one on a part, which is quite remarkable! Below you'll find some pictures from pasta night!
We're so excited to share with you a bit about our new ukulele curriculum! Each week, we dedicate 1-2 days to independent and group work as we learn informally from each other. Here's some of what we have been working on:
My students never cease to amaze me! These sixth graders not only learned a song in three parts, but they learned a song in three parts that's in GREEK! They sixth grade is singing in Greek, English, AND German this semester! Wow! :)
These seventh graders make vocal warm ups fun by making up new dance moves to go along with their singing! They wanted me to share the video on the blog, so here it is! :)
